Meet Milo and June: A Bedtime Trilogy That Teaches Kids to Read the Night Sky
Sep 29, 2026 · @Astrid
Two best friends, one shared dream, and a path of glowing stars: Milo and June is a three-book bedtime series from Sage Green Shop that introduces children to the zodiac, the planets and the houses of the sky, and it is now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle, in English and Spanish.
Why this series
Kids ask big questions when they look up at night. What's my sign? Why is that star so bright? Why doesn't that one twinkle? Milo and June answers those questions the way children learn best: through a story, with friends to meet and a little adventure in every chapter.
Each book pairs the old tradition of astrology with real astronomy. The zodiac signs, planets and houses are introduced gently, alongside true sky facts, so curious kids get wonder and knowledge on the same page.
Author Astrid Garcia wrote the series to introduce children to astrology as "an old, beautiful tradition full of characters, not a set of labels." As she puts it: "Milo and June don't get told who they are. They walk the circle, meet each friend, and decide for themselves where they feel at home."
There are no "good" or "bad" signs in the circle. The chapters are short, one friend at a time, each with a star lesson to hold on to, and the books are made to be read together, with little questions that open up bedtime conversations.

The three books
Book 1: Milo and June and the Circle of Little Friends
Ages 4 to 8 · the signs, the "how"
On the last warm night of summer, Milo and June fall asleep counting stars and wake up inside the very same dream: a glowing path into the Zodiac, the Circle of Little Friends. To find their way home, they walk the whole circle and meet all twelve signs, from a bold ram who shouts "Go, go, go!" to two shimmering fish tied with a silver ribbon. Each friend gives June a star for her pocket and a lesson to carry home, while one question follows her through every village: Where do I belong?
Book 2: Milo and June and the Ten Wandering Lights
Ages 8 and up · the planets, the "what"
A week later, the Sky-Keeper is waiting with an empty glass lantern. Tonight the friends meet the wanderers: a Sun in star-shaped sunglasses, a sleepy Moon in a nightcap, speedy Mercury, racing Mars, patient Saturn, and a tiny, shy Pluto with a heart on its tummy. Every chapter pairs a real Sky Fact with an Astrology Idea, and every planet adds a spark of light to the lantern.
Book 3: Milo and June and the Twelve Sky Rooms
Ages 8 and up · the houses, the "where"
On the third night, the star path leads to a round Sky House cut into twelve slices like a giant pizza. Room by room, Milo and June discover the parts of a life: a winking mirror, a treasure chest, a puppet show, a bicycle built for two, a balloon party with old friends. In the finale they learn to read the sky like a sentence: planet, plus sign, plus house.
What's inside every book
• A full-page illustration for every chapter, in a warm, glowing storybook style
• A short lesson, fact or question in each chapter that kids can talk about at bedtime

Each book stands on its own, and together they tell the whole story of a birth chart: the how, the what and the where.
